Jane Arthurs

Jane Arthurs, Dr. teaches film and television studies and feminist cultural studies at the University of the West of England.  Her previous research on the portrayal of sexuality has been published in Television and Sexuality: Regulation and the Politics of Taste (Open University Press 2004), “Sex Worker’s Incorporated” in J. Hollows and R. Moseley eds. Feminism in Popular Culture (Berg 2006), ‘Television, Sex and Regulation’ in J. Sinclair ed. (BFI 2004) and “Sex and the City and Consumer Culture: Remediating Postfeminist Drama” in Feminist Media Studies 3:1 (2003). She is also the co-editor of the Commentary and Criticism section of the journal Feminist Media Studies. She is currently researching the way in which the issue of trafficked women have taken up in the media as a cause for political intervention and charitable concern.
