Sahadeo, Jeff: assistant professor at the Institute of European and Russian Studies and the Department of Political Science at Carleton University. Received his Ph.D. in History at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2000. Published several articles on relations between Russians and Central Asians in imperial Tashkent, including “Epidemic and Empire: Ethnicity, Class, and “Civilization” in the 1892 Tashkent Cholera Riot in Slavic Review (Spring 2005). His monograph and an edited volume Everyday Life in Central Asia, Past and Present, are due to be released by Indiana University Press in 2006.
