Saur, Pamela S.

Saur, Pamela S., Dr.: has taught English and German since 1988 at Lamar University in Beaumont Texas, which named her University Professor in 2007. She holds an M.A. and Ph.D. in German from the University of Iowa and an M.Ed. degree in English from the University of Massachusetts at Boston. She has delivered presentations and published articles on various literary, cultural, and pedagogical topics, but her main research specialty is modern Austrian literature. In numerous journal articles, book chapters, reference book entries, and book reviews, she has published on such authors as Joseph Roth, Peter Altenberg, Herbert Zand, Ernst Weiss, Franz Kafka, Barbara Frischmuth, Marlen Haushofer, and Gerhard Roth. She has published translations of four Austrian books with Ariadne Press and co-edited a volume, Visions and Visionaries in Contemporary Austrian Literature, Culture and Film (Lang) with M. Lamb- Faffelberger. She served as Editor of the Texas Foreign Language Association Bulletin from 1996-2005 and Schatzkammer der Deutschen Sprache, Dichtung und Geschichte from 1988 – 2000. She is currently writing a book on Ernst Weiss for Academica Press.
