The Effects of Natural and Cultural Values on Tourism

ABSTRACT:

Tourism takes an important place for social and economical development of countries. Especially in the last few years tourism is rapidly developing together with the rapidly changing technology. Natural resources, cultural values and providing accommodations for tourists to get to know these values, providing guidance and transportation services in the best way, are effective factors of developing tourism. At this section the effects of natural and cultural values on tourism will be discussed. From this point of view, answers to the questions below will be given.

  • What is the role of ancient cities in country promotion?
  • How effective are historical monuments in the development of tourism?
  • Are local cultural values important for tourism?
  • In what dimensions do recreational areas add a contribution to tourism?
  • What is the place and importance of plateau festivities in tourism?
  • What effects the native population's perceptions about tourism and tourists?

Presentations can be done in English, German or French and should be limited to 20 minutes.

All who have done studies about: "The Effects of Natural and Cultural Values on Tourism in Asian and European Countries" can apply for this section.

Proposals of presentations should be sent to the section chair Dr. Turhan ÇETIN, Gazi University Ankara, Turkey (cetin.turhan@gmail.com or turhan@gazi.edu.tr), with the following topics (in Word format):
