Turkey, a land between Asia and Europe as well as a land between the Near East and Africa, has been playing a unifying and also a divisive role in the political and cultural relationships of nations for thousands of years. Turkey's role as a bridge still continues in such relationships today. The drawing power of Anatolia invites peoples to come together and thereby causes the formation of mixed cultures, which in the course of time undergo a process of spreading out culturally in all countries of the world.
In this section we will investigate cultural associations and connections from the beginnings of history to the present on the basis of examples from cultural history.
