Theatre and Environmental Education: a case study of three performances in Cameroon

The origin of theatre can be traced from the very existence of man, his struggle to understand himself, his evolution, nature, his environment. Thus theatrical activities (drama, rituals, dance, songs, mimes, choreography, recital poems, story-telling and so on) were incorporated in man's daily activities. Environmentalists such as Wildlife Conservation Society (W.C.S.) have come to understand that theatre is an inevitable and indispensable tool in educating people about the environment - how to preserve it for future generations and to guarantee their own survival.
