Burt, Raymond is currently Professor of German and Chair of Foreign Languages & Literatures at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. He earned his Ph.D. in German Literature at the University of California, Los Angeles and is a recipient of two Fulbright grants to Vienna. During his graduate years, he discovered the unpublished papers of Friedrich S. Krauss in Los Angeles. In addition to a biography on Krauss, he has also published an edition of Slavic folktales collected by Krauss. His current research is on contemporary Austrian authors, such as Michael Köhlmeier, Marlene Streeruwitz, and Paulus Hochgatterer.
