Çoban Döşkaya, Füsun, Assistant Professor of American Culture and Literature at Dokuz Eylul University, Izmir, Turkey. B.A. in English at Ege University. M.A. and Ph.D in American Studies from Dokuz Eylul University. Specialized in critical discourse analysis and minority discourse. Received scholarships from U.S. State Department, U.S. Embassy in Athens, American Studies Center of Salzburg Seminar and the Fund for American Studies in New York. Finished a project funded by TUBITAK (The Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkey) entitled as “European Union Discourse on Cyprus”.
Research Areas include Women’s Writing and Orientalism. Taught American Literature, American History, American Foreign Policy, Research Methods, and History of Turkish-American Relations.
Member of ASAT (The American Studies Association of Turkey), IDEA (English Language and Literature Research Association), NAES (National Association for Ethnic Studies) and Cultural Studies Association of Turkey.
