Dalkavoukis, Vassilis: born 1967 in Ioannina (Greece). Married, two daughters. Studied History at the Aristoteles University of Thessaloniki. Specialized in Modern History (master) and Social Anthropology (PhD). He works on collective identities, especially those which appear an ethnic character, and he makes fieldwork in Zagori (Epirus). He has been appointed as a lecturer at Democritus University of Thrace (Komotini, Greece). Member of the Greek Association for Semiotic Studies (2004). For the moment, he works as a teacher in a high school. Publications (in Greek): Immigrations from Zagori (1750 – 1922), Thessaloniki 1999. The pen and the crook: ethnic and ethno-local identity at Zagori in 20th century, Odysseas: Athens 2005.
