Gagnon, Daniel, Novelist, short story writer, poet and essayist, Daniel Gagnon is the author of over twenty-two books, including La Fille à marier (Leméac 1985) for which he received the Prix Molson de l’Académie des lettres du Québec, Une enfance magogoise (short-listed for the Prix Alfred DesRochers), and essays on such well-known Québec painters as Riopelle, Ozias Leduc, and Marc-Aurèle Fortin. His short stories, more than fifty in all, have been read over the air by Radio-Canada and published in literary reviews and anthologies in Canada and France. More recently, his articles on bilingual writing and self-translating have appeared in European publications at John Benjamins and Cambridge Scholars Press.
