Kacandes, Irene, Associate Professor, German Studies and Comparative Literature, Dartmouth Hall, Hanover, Germany. Irene Kacandes is the author of Talk Fiction: Literature and the Talk Explosion (U of Nebraska P, 2001) and the coeditor of Teaching the Representation of the Holocaust (MLA Publications, 2004) and A User’s Guide to German Cultural Studies (U Michigan P, 1997). She is the author of numerous articles on German literature, narrative theory, feminist linguistics, witnessing, Holocaust studies, and cultural studies. She is currently at work on two manuscripts examining the concept of family memory in the context of the Second World War and the Holocaust.
