Kelgenbaeva, Kamilya M., Tech. Dipl.-Ing.: born 1971 in Kyrgyzstan. 1989 – 1994: studied Hydromelioration at the Kyrgyz Agricultural Institute. Joined the Kyrgyz Research Irrigation Institute, worked in field of soil erosion and land desertification, involved in several international projects of the World Bank (USA), UNDP etc. 1 997 – 1998: participated in United Nations (UN) Course “Remote Sensing (RS) and Geographic Informational System (GIS)”, Centre for Space Science and Technology Education in Asia and the Pacific (CSSTEAP), Dehra Dun, India. Master of Technology in RS and GIS by Andhra University (India). Since 2001: guest scientist at the Institute for Cartography (IfC) of the Dresden University of Technology (TUD), Germany.
