Kim, Hyun Taek

Kim, Hyun Taek received Ph.D. in Slavic Languages and Literatures at University of Kansas, Lawrence in the United States in 1990. Working as Professor of Russian Department at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in Seoul, Korea, currently he is doing research on 20th Russian prose, especially on such writers as V. Nabokov, A. Platonov, and A. Kim. He published numerous articles, including “Andrej Platonov’s Novella Kotlovan: The Fantastic Reality of the Anti-World”, “Post-Soviet Russian Culture and National Identity”, and “National Cultural Signs Reflected in the Prose of Anatolij Kim”. Besides 20th century Russian prose his research interest comprises such areas as Russo-Korean cultural contacts and literary translation theory
