Nicolaescu, Madalina is Professor of English Literature at the University of Bucharest and president of the Gender Centre for Feminist Studies. She has written on Shakespeare, globalisation and women. Two of the latest books are Meanings of Violence in Shakespeare’s Plays, 2002 and Fashioning Global Identities, 2001, both published by the University of Bucharest Press.
