Sayers, Dave is a researcher in sociolinguistics and the sociology of language at the University of Essex in the United Kingdom. His work focuses on the examination of declining linguistic diversity in modern society from a dialectological viewpoint, language policy which explicitly claims to ‘protect linguistic diversity’, and evaluating whether that claim is viable given its central mandate to standardise minority languages.
