Sorour, Wafaa Hamdy: born 1962 in Qena, Egypt. G raduated in 1983 from the University of Assiut (Egypt). Working as a language instructor at Faculty of Arts, University of Assiut until 1992. In 1993 earning an M. A in irish literature. In 1994 got a two-month grant in the Integrated English Language Program, under the sponsorship of the Fulbright Commission in USA. In 1997 earned Ph.D. in American literature from Univ. of South Valley (Egypt) and appointed as a lecturer of English literature at the same university. M ember of the Association of Professors of English and Translation at Arab Universities in Jordan. Attended a Conference in Jordan in 2000 and presented a paper on „The Theme of Commitment in the Plays of Tawfiq el-Hakim and Henrik Ibsen“. At the same year became a member of the Egyptian National Council of Women (in Qena).
