Thonhauser, Matthias, geboren 1966 in Wien, Theaterschaffender, Theaterpädagoge, Theologe und Lehrer. Entwicklung und Mitarbeit im Projekt Friedensdienst 1986 in Steyr, Arbeit als Voluntär in einem landwirtschaftlichen Projekt Kolumbien 1987–89; Theologiestudium in Wien, Abschluss mit einer religionswissenschaftlichen Arbeit über die Bedeutung andiner Religiosität in Befreiungsprozessen (Veröffentlichung 2001). Forschungsaufenthalt in den Südanden Perus 1997. Ausbildung zum Integrativen Gestaltpädagogen 2002–2004. Mitbegründer des Vereins Art in Progress sowie des österreichischen Netzwerks Arge Forumtheater. Aktiv in zahlreichen Forumtheatergruppen und –projekten, sowie als Regisseur, Schauspieler und Workshopleiter.

Derzeit bis Ende 2008 tätig im Rahmen eines Projekts in Kirgistan zum Aufbau eines Zentralasiatischen Theaterpädagogischen Zentrums als Theaterpädagoge und sowie als Verantwortlicher des österreichischen Projektpartners Art in Progress zuständig für die Projektentwicklung und Mitglied des Leitungsteams.

Thonhauser, Matthias, born 1966 in Vienna, theatremaker, dramapedagogue, theologian and teacher. Developing of and participation in “Projekt Friedensdienst” 1986 in Steyr, worked as a volunteer in an agricultural project in Columbia from 1987 till 1989; studied Theology in Vienna University and finished with a diesis in the institute of Study of Religions about The significance of Andin autochthon religious practice in liberation processes (published in 2001). Research period in the Southern Andes of Peru in 1997. Professional training in “Integrativer Gestaltpädagogik” from 2002 till 2004. With other colleagues he founds the association Art in Progress and the Austrian Theatre of the Oppressed Network Arge Forumtheater. He is active in different Forumtheatregroups, also as director, actor and workshop-leader.

Actually till end of 2008 he is working in Kyrgyzstan as a dramapedagogue in a project for building up a dramapedagogical and cultural centre of Theatre of the Oppressed methods. As responsible person of Art in Progress, the international partner organisation, he developed the concept and coordinates the project.
