Vinogradova, Elena

Vinogradova, Elena, born 1960 in Primorskij Region (Russia). Obtained her higher education at State Pedagogical Institute of Ussuriisk, postgraduate education at Herzen State Pedagogical University of St.Petersburg (Russia). In April 1996, she obtained a doctorate degree in Theory and Methodology of Foreign Language Teaching from Herzen State Pedagogical University of St.Petersburg (Russia). Since 1996, he has been lecturer in Intercultural Communication Studies, Theory and Methods of FLT, Interpretation and Translation at Pyatigorsk State Linguistic University (Russia). Among her teaching assignments feature Language Didactics, the Teaching of English as a Foreign Language, Introduction to Intercultural Communication Theory, Teaching Intercultural Communication in Multicultural Setting, Interpretation and Translation, she is also the Deputy Director for Academic Training Issues of the Institute of Translatology and Multilingual Studies at Pyatigorsk State Linguistic University ( Russia). In the area of research, Dr. Vinogradova’s work dwells on intercultural communication problems, intercultural and communicative competence development, modern techniques of FLT, problems of bilingualism development in the non-native environment.

She has published more about 50 works on the issues mentioned in scholarly journals, two textbooks:

  • Sociolinguistic Aspects of Teaching English at North Caucasus National Schools (on the material of the Ossetic Language) (Pyatigorsk: PGLU, 2001),

  • Main Components of Speech Communication Culture in the Context of Intercultural Communication (Pyatigorsk: PGLU, 2003),
  • Models of Creative Teaching (Pyatigorsk: PGLU, 2009),
  • Translating English for Special Purposes: Economy. Business. Finance (Pyatigorsk: PGLU, 2010)
