Yankova, Diana – TRANS

Yankova, Diana, Dr.: has a PhD in applied linguistics and is currently Director of Studies. Teaches translation of legislative texts and culture studies at the Applied Linguistics Department, New Bulgarian University, Sofia, Bulgaria. She is author of over 40 articles on US and Canadian culture and legal language with special emphasis on culture and genre-specific characteristics of Common law and Continental legislation, points of convergence between legal studies and linguistics, terminological and structural considerations in translating Community law, approximation of legislation, teaching EALP. In 2004 she published a book entitled „Statutory Provisions in English and Bulgarian“.
