Austrian Literature - Multilingual Literature

 

Initially Austrian literature played an important role for INST in the analysis of the regional and the international (transnational). The essential challenges were and are:

The character of art

Multicultural cities (urbanization since the 19 th century)

Language - multilingualism (polyglot)

(Destructive) power and resistance

Transnational factors

Although in the 1990s INST created an important basis for an Austrian literary history, this, like a dozen other projects in Austria and internationally, remained at the rudimentary stage of new beginnings in fragmentary presentation. However, it is to be noted that the project has not been canceled but only postponed.
