"Border Roles"

Elissavet Evdoridou (University of Thessaly) / Theodoros Karakasidis (University of Thessaly)

ABSTRACT:

Taking into consideration the place of working women in today’s society, this approach is trying to trace their double role in between family and carrier choices and commitment.

Thus, this border zone, creating an intramixture of either disjunction or conjunction is being examined through twelve interviews to Greeks. From a semiotic point of view, this study will also try to present whether it does exist a worsening imposed gender discrimination, in the third millennium. Issues such as anxiety and understanding may also either make longer woman’s turning point to chose one of the two "carriers", or become pertinent throughout their decisive stay in this very zone.

Analogies from the world of physics is also taken into account.
