Since agricultural suitability has to thematically integrate various aspects of the physical environment and the human management and utilisation, a GIS form a basic and handy tool for data integration, evaluation, rating and cartographic presentation. The paper presents a systematisation of results the modelling of land suitability evaluation based on using remote sensing data and GIS. For the case study the Uimon Basin (Altai Republic, Russia) has been chosen. The cartosemiotic method of research for the analyses of structural - semiotic aspects of visualisation the thematical maps was used.
For the local experts and farmers the present cartographic model makes a big interest.
