Unifying and Separating perspectives of Ancient Athens

ABSTRACT:

The present paper reveals the identity of the ancient city of Athens. I take into consideration two perspectives: the cultural one, and the linquistic one. The cultural perspective shows the city in different epochs and with different classical authors. The linquistic perspective starts from a definition of the Polis concept. I use these two perspectives because the identity of a city requires several points of view.
