ABSTRACT:
The mankind has entered the epoch of globalization that is characterized by standartization of economic and technological processes as well as rapprochement of cultures of different countries. The interaction of civilizations implies a two-way process enjoying equal rights, but in practice, some traditional elements of national culture of an individual country (including Russia) sometimes turn out to be lost. Uniform artificial subculture interferes in the original culture of the nation that has been formed for centuries, affecting many spheres of everyday life. The wide use of the English language for international communication, in mass media, films, TV programs, software, the increasing role of the Internet as a tool for getting information and communicating may result in exhaustion of the national language of an individual country. Are these tendencies inconvertible? How can they be controlled? What are their limits?– these are just a few questions to be discussed.
