Yefimova, Olga V., born 1972 in Pyatigorsk (Russia). Obtained her higher education at Pyatigorsk State Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages (Russia, 1994). In February 2005, she obtained a doctorate degree in Comparative Linguistics from Pyatigorsk State Linguistic University. Since 1994, she has been a tutor of English at Pyatigorsk State Linguistic University and in 2005-2008 was a lecturer in English and Linguistics at the affiliation of Pyatigorsk State Linguistic University in the city of Novorossiysk. Among her teaching assignments feature Psycholinguistics, English Linguistics, Translation practice, Consecutive and Simultaneous Interpreting, Comparative and Contrastive Studies in English and Russian, and Teaching of English as a Foreign Language.
In the area of research, Dr. Yefimova’s work is concentrated on the problems of psycholinguistics, phonetics, speech behaviour of individuals, political discourse, comparative typology of the English and Russian Languages and she has published several articles on the abovementioned topics in scholarly journals. She has equally benefited from a research grant in 2001–2002 as a Visiting Scholar at Junior Faculty Development Program at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside (Wisconsin, USA) in the field of American Studies and Teaching English as a Second Language.
