The Role of Tourism in Personality Oriented Civil Society Formation

ABSTRACT:
The development of tourism in the space of economy of services is connected with diversification of production, with growth of standard of living and occurrence of a great volume of free time, which can be used for him/herself, family, and society as a whole.
While speaking about tourism, specialists usually emphasize its social and economic importance. However, tourism exerts some influence on political sphere, has a wholesome effect on the formation of the civil society, thus carrying out a multi-functional role:
- Tourism is focused on the concrete person, and thereby it contributes in personality oriented civil society creation;
- Tourism as an industry of economy of service demands the creative, extraordinary and professional people and thereby it is a catalyst of their training and increasing their supply.
- Tourism development forms preconditions for strengthening personal orientation of citizens, stimulates the processes of self-consciousness, self-realization, and creativity. In other words, it helps to display all such human spiritual and mental features, which are needed by personality oriented civil society.
Business travel plays a special role in the processes mentioned above, because a priory it is oriented at economically adapted citizens, representatives of science, art, culture and education. In this regard universities, scientific institutes, and cultural institutions come forward as subjects and organizers of conferences, seminars and meetings, involve human, information, and governmental resources, contributes to interaction of representatives of different countries and to the universal values distribution. It follows from the outlined information, that it is necessary to use skillfully a huge potential of tourism for solving problem of personality oriented civil society formation in Russia.
