ABSTRACT:

As the result of globalization, almost every country in the world deals with labour migration, whether it is immigration or emigration. Depending on state’s policy, migration processes are either harsh or soft.

In my presentation I will analyse how different countries deal with such issues. What is Kyrgyzstan’s policy on migration issues de jure and de facto? What leads Kyrgyzstan government to work in such direction? Whose interests are being protected by government strategy?

In second part of my presentation I’ll focus on policy and environment in the “migrant attractive” countries.

Since the majority of labour migrants from Kyrgyzstan are going to Russia, I will analyse situation in this state. In the meantime, Norway is country of destination for labour migrants from Russia. Therefore, in my further analysis I will compare Norway and Russia state policies towards migration.

Governments’ policies toward migration in Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Norway will be in focus of my presentation.
