Characteristic of Centrope is its multilingualism. From the point of view of innovations this is an enrichment –in contrast to the point of view of the reproductions in the area of the agrarian, industrial, and service industries, where it is seen as a (conditional) barrier. But it is necessary to use these riches – especially now in the phase of structural change in Europe.
The following possibilities can be taken into account in this context:
The VUNW-project can be seen in this context as the start of such a development. In the Within the meaning of the project it was important to formulate the basic ideas first, in order to create the virtual infrastructure and to publicise them in the WWW. With the INST-presentations it is important to anchor these new structures as broadly as possible. Within the framework of a follow-up project the use of it should be broadly constituted.
The creation of a (linguistically) mixed public sphere – such as one can find partially at least in the WWW – where one can form common social concepts about the development in Centrope (as is the practice in single regions such Vienna and Gyor)
The creation of synergies (e.g. in the framework of the „Encyclopaedia of multilingual cultural science“ of the INST, and accordingly the possibility of an other knowledge)
The use in knowledge and cultural tourism (and thus the retention and extension of languages, the extraction of new income)
The provision of new knowledge and abilities.
